Role and responsibilities:
- Programming: Develop and optimize CNC programs for the Haas using G-code and M-code languages.
- Setup: Prepare and set up CNC machines for production runs, including loading raw materials and parts.
- Operation: Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator and Programmer, specifically with Haas machines.
- Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in machining.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.

Duties
- Preparation and submission of accurate monthly accounts to B&M Group by working day 2 each month, along with supplementary information required
- Posting of all required accounting entries for accruals, stock, fixed assets, hire purchase leases etc. in the Sage 50 system and reconciliation of all balance sheet codes on a monthly basis
- Safeguarding of company assets by ensuring appropriate processes and controls are in place and adhered to, especially with regard to cash
- Monitoring of the aged debtors and working with the Accounts Assistant to ensure any overdue debts are followed and collected
- Supporting the business with financial analysis as and when required by the management team, to help drive performance
- Preparation of the fortnightly payroll and liaison with the 3rd party payroll support provider to ensure all employees are paid correctly and on a timely basis. Ensuring payments to HMRC, pension companies etc. are made promptly. Monitoring of employees’ holiday allowances.
- Administration of the Nest pension scheme
- Preparation and submission of annual P11Ds
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Administration of the bank accounts. Payment of suppliers and other required parties.
- Liaison with professional advisors to ensure the statutory accounts and corporation tax returns are accurate and submitted in a timely fashion
- Organise and oversee stock takes on a periodic basis
- Line manager responsibility for the Accounts Assistant, as well as cover when they are on vacation or otherwise absent
- Preparation of the annual budget for the B&M Group, as well as any other forecasts required, including cash flow
- Participation in ad hoc projects to further align the AFG financial processes with those of B&M Group
- Provide Commercial Finance support to B&M’s Steel Plate & Sections (SPS) division
- Monitoring and forecasting of Overheads (approx. £500k per month) - developing close relationships with the business to ensure Overhead spend is captured, recorded and forecasted on a timely basis
- Analysis of slow-moving stock
- Gross Margin analysis by customer
- Be the ERP champion for the SPS division, ensuring users are fully educated and aware of best practice for all the various transaction types (sales, purchases, credit notes, stock transfers, stock adjustments)
- Develop automated reports within the group reporting system (Phocas) to provide the commercial teams with easy to access and understand business performance information
- Preparation of the annual budget for the SPS division, as well as any other forecasts required
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant with some exposure to manufacturing or heavy industry
- Experience of working in an SME business as well as reporting into a large group

Role and responsibilities
- To load and efficiently operate machinery you have been trained in and to maintain operational efficiency as agreed with the Production Manager.
- To ensure the quality of production work is in line with the standards set out by the Quality Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- To ensure all production processes and paperwork are completed legibly and accurately consistently and handed in to the correct departmental personnel in a timely manner.
- To time manage the material presented to the machine so as to ensure that work flows through each stage of the production processes in the most efficient manner.
- To complete the machine job accurately and prepare for dispatch in accordance with delivery requirements i.e. Banded, Labeled, & Stacked appropriately for loading.

Credit Controller for Barclay & Mathieson Ltd.
Role and responsibilities
- Chasing payments via telephone and email for monthly sales invoices
- Open new credit account and cash sale accounts
- Sets and monitors credit limits for clients based on creditworthiness
- Liaises with sales and Depot managers to set credit limits and terms of credit for new clients.
- Initiates legal procedures for debt collection, if necessary, in line with company policy.
- Dealing with sales representatives/customers to resolve queries
- Responsible for taking debit/credit card payments via online portal
- Weekly meeting with manager to discuss debtor list
- Helping with account reconciliations chasing remittances etc
- Sending copy invoices/ proof of delivery via email
