CNC Operator & Programmer (Haas) [Sowerby Bridge]

Pulman is a leading manufacturer in Steel processing. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our clients. We are looking for a skilled CNC Operator & Programmer to join our team and contribute to our success.

 

Role and responsibilities:

  • Programming: Develop and optimize CNC programs for the Haas using G-code and M-code languages.
  • Setup: Prepare and set up CNC machines for production runs, including loading raw materials and parts.
  • Operation: Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator and Programmer, specifically with Haas machines.
  • Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in machining.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.

Sales Executive/Business Development Executive (Aberdeen Depot)

Due to site upgrades, overhaul and redevelopment, including major investment in new product lines and our increased stockholding capacity in Aberdeen since our acquisition by Marubeni Itochu Steel in October 2022, we are looking for a superstar to join our sales team!

As a part of the team in Aberdeen, you will excel at creating and closing new opportunities in a steel sales environment. By using a consultative approach to selling, you will use your expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers. On this occasion we are only looking for exceptional talent with technical/ steel sales experience; selling to and targeting Oil & Gas, Offshore Engineering, Power-Gen, Defense and Renewable Energy industries.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed agreed sales targets.
  • Business development within a defined sales territory.
  • Understand our product range and services to promote them in the best possible way.
  • Successfully create business from new and existing customer accounts.

  • Demonstrable track record of over-achieving quota, in a steel sales environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of sales process lifeline.
  • Workable knowledge of steel grades, qualities and applications.
  • Technical mindset to value product applications to offer products, services and alternatives.

Machine Operative (Aberdeen Depot)

Role and responsibilities

  • To load and efficiently operate machinery you have been trained in and to maintain operational efficiency as agreed with the Production Manager.
  • To ensure the quality of production work is in line with the standards set out by the Quality Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  • To ensure all production processes and paperwork are completed legibly and accurately consistently and handed in to the correct departmental personnel in a timely manner.
  • To time manage the material presented to the machine so as to ensure that work flows through each stage of the production processes in the most efficient manner.
  • To complete the machine job accurately and prepare for dispatch in accordance with delivery requirements i.e. Banded, Labeled, & Stacked appropriately for loading.
  • To ensure that any Technical and/or Safety bulletins for Processing Machinery distributed to each machine operative is adhered to. 
  • To act on information produced by OEE statistics to ensure that workflow efficiencies are maximized at every opportunity.
  • To ensure machinery is operated in line with published SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) at all times.
  • To ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout the Production work areas and machinery on a daily basis.  This will include timely TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) schedules are adhered to.
  • To comply with the dress code, HSE and quality standards agreed within the company and to have personal responsibilities for the application of policies and procedures established for the department.
  • Adhere to our environmental policy by ensuring all waste is disposed of in the correct skips (wood, metal, general).

Credit Controller (Glasgow Depot)

Credit Controller for Barclay & Mathieson Ltd.

 

Role and responsibilities

  • Chasing payments via telephone and email for monthly sales invoices
  • Open new credit account and cash sale accounts
  • Sets and monitors credit limits for clients based on creditworthiness
  • Liaises with sales and Depot managers to set credit limits and terms of credit for new clients.
  • Initiates legal procedures for debt collection, if necessary, in line with company policy.
  • Dealing with sales representatives/customers to resolve queries
  • Responsible for taking debit/credit card payments via online portal
  • Weekly meeting with manager to discuss debtor list
  • Helping with account reconciliations chasing remittances etc
  • Sending copy invoices/ proof of delivery via email
  • Responding to internal & external emails in a timely manner
  • Adhere to our environmental policy by ensuring all waste is disposed of in the correct bins.
  • Ensure all electrical equipment not in use is switched off where possible, for example PC monitors, fans, heaters, lights, and radios.
  • Takes on additional ad hoc projects as required.

HGV Class 2 Driver (Nottingham Depot)

Based in Nottingham our company is offering great opportunities for Class 2/HGV divers. Your role will be to deliver our goods to customers in a safe and effective way. You will be responsible for caring for your vehicle and providing excellent customer service standards to all customers.

Key Responsibilities of the Driver

  • To complete daily walk - around check and ensure that the details are recorded using the phone app provided to you.
  • Ensuring all products for a delivery are correct and that they have been loaded correctly and safely
