Recycled Plastic Planters - FAQs

Back to categories

How do you clean recycled plastic planters?

Wash your recycled plastic planters with a mild soap and water solution regularly to keep them clean. If you want to give them a deep clean and disinfect them, remove the soil, use a cloth or brush to remove any remaining soil particles, and wash the planters with soapy water before rinsing clean. Next, add one part of household bleach to nine parts of water, and soak the planters in this solution for at least 10 minutes before rinsing them and allowing them to dry.

How long do recycled plastic planters last?

With proper care, recycled plastic planters can last for up to 25 years or longer.

Are recycled plastic planters weather resistant?

Yes, our recycled plastic planters are weather-resistant, UV-resistant, and frost-resistant. They’re also resistant to mould and rot.

What can be planted in recycled plastic planters?

There are almost no limits when it comes to what you can plant in recycled plastic planters from BM Steel. They’re suitable for small trees, flowering ornamental plants, ornamental grasses, succulents and cacti, shrubs, bushes, small trees, and edible plants such as vegetables, fruit, and herbs.

Do plants grow better in plastic or ceramic pots?

The answer depends on the type of plant. Plastic pots retain more water than ceramic pots, making ceramic pots a slightly better option for plants that prefer drier conditions, such as cacti and succulents. If you plant succulents and cacti, pay attention to how much and how frequently you water them.
