Class2 Driver

Role and responsibilities:

  • To complete daily walk - around check and ensure that the details are recorded using the phone app provided to you.
  • Ensuring all products for a delivery are correct and that they have been loaded correctly and safely
  • Responsible for completing the daily paperwork
  • Execute any special requests as directed on the delivery note
  • To make safe and efficient deliveries to the customer(s) following the planned route
  • Be friendly and polite to customers at all times
  • Responsible for taking your vehicle to service when required to do so
  • To permanently maintain contact with the transport department and announce any issues as soon as they arise

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good safety practices and driving habits
  • Full C or CE licence
  • Digital Tacho card
  • DCPC
  • A good understanding of Drivers hours and regulations

Warehouse Operative

The Warehouse Operative is required to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Warehouse Operative responsibilities include storing materials, pulling materials and preparing them for onward delivery. This work is of a physical nature and involves lifting, carrying and pulling. The objective is to increase efficiency.

DUTIES

  • Generate (break down) rack locations to create space for new stock
  • Maintain inventory controls by stowing stock away in the relevant location.
  • Prepare customer orders by processing delivery ticket requests; pulling materials, banding and labelling consignments, ready for vehicle loading.

  • Ensure all stock discrepancies are reported to the Warehouse Supervisor or Depot Manager.
  • Ensure PPE is worn at all times in the warehouse.
  • Maintain equipment by performing ‘Before Use Checks’ and reporting any faults.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping all racking and floor areas free from waste.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line managers.
  • Adhere to our environmental policy by ensuring all waste is disposed of in the correct skips (wood, metal, general).

Steel Processing Sales Executive

This role has been created to support BM Steels processing and production capabilities. You will be responsible for supporting and contributing to sales of processed steel, with a focus on Welding & Fabrication. This varied role will offer the opportunity to take ownership of an area of the business which is growing and needs a motivated person to drive commercial growth.

  • Support Sales Team to grow sales of processed Steel products.
  • Establish contact and develop relationships with prospects; recommend solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with existing clients
  • Actively following up all quotations raised and providing feedback
  • Gathering general customer feedback, market activities and competitor information
  • Contributes to sales team effort by meeting individual and team sales targets & Gross Margin targets.
  • Processing orders on the system and following orders through from start to completion.
  • Occasionally visit customers when necessary to promote BM Steel and its products.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience of Steel Fabrication and welding processes - essential
  • Ability to follow and read engineers drawings - essential
  • CAD experience desirable, but not essential.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Be motivated to sell and be driven to meet personal and team target
  • Able to work independently, as well as within a team environment.

Based in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, Abram Pulman & Sons Ltd (Est 1830) are a Steel Stockholder and Processor supplying steel products across the whole of the Yorkshire and Lancashire areas, where an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy work force and become part of the successful Pulmans team.

Role and responsibilities:

• Drives new business by identification and research into new sales opportunities.

Sales Admin

The Group Sales Administrator is a key role in collaboration between all the stock and added value supply into our Depot network. Organising and administrating the sales, stock and transportation movement is critical in ensuring our groups customers experience with business is the leading offer. The position will see regular contract with the Depot network, particularly with Avon, Peterborough and Nottingham Depots who have an existing weekly transfer lorry. As well as organising direct deliveries, return of goods, stock movements and order input on the ERP systems. A high and accurate level of communication is critical for this role to ensure ongoing excellence is delivered.
  • Excellent customer service as forefront of the business for transferring skills, knowledge, products and procecsses
  • Display integrity at every opportunity to ensure honest and a high level of communication between all sites
  • Close collaboration is vital for success. Our depots need to know exact delivery dates, quantities and expectations are managed adequately
  • Ensure all internal processes are follows and communicated correctly 
  • Raise any delivery efficiency issues with line manager at earliest opportunity
  • Folow up quotations with relevant Depot
  • Transfer stock and check proces against teh transfer policy and purchasing policy
  • Organise DPD or palletways deliveries for direct deliveries
  • Ensure due dates are organised and adhered to. Communicating any issues appropiately in a timely manner
  • Issuing IMS sales reps with daily overdue order report
  • Visit Southern sites annually
  • Assistance with reasonable duties directed by Line Manager
  • Answering/helping the sales team with incoming overflow calls
  • Tracking of depot  KPI's in Excel MS

This role will also include development into either a Sales Role or an Assistant Drawing Admin role. (Training will be provided for either)

Sales role:

  • Identifying potential customers and growing a core of regular customers
  • Answering incoming calls
  • Out going calls to existing customers
  • Chasing small value quotes for senior sales members

Assistant Drawing Admin Role:

  • import NC files provided by Depots customers into Steel Projects software
  • Verify and document any modifications made to customer files, providing updates to teh depots sales team
  • Import and clean up DXF/DWG CAD files
  • Editing or creating profiles in SigmaNest or SolidWorks
  • Understand machine capabilities and limitations
  • Offer solutions or alternatives to meet customer needs, including identifying suitable cutting methods (plasma, gas or shearing)
  • Provide detailed drilling packs including changes made, cutting patterns and job specifics for depots sales team quotations
